Smith Ranch Homes Homeowners' Association's mission is to provide a vibrant independent living community for active seniors with excellent services, food, and activities in a safe and comfortable environment.
The SRH History Construction of the main Smith Ranch buildings was developed in 1989 by Tishman Speyer. Control of the Association was transferred over to the homeowners in April 1996.
Smith Ranch Homes Homeowners' Association is a non-profit, mutual benefit corporation established for the purpose of managing and maintaining a common interest development located in San Rafael, California. Smith Ranch Homes is a senior common interest development. At least one resident in each Unit must be fifty-five (55) years or older. Qualifications for every other resident are outlined in the Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs).

My parents moved into Smith Ranch 3 years ago and have been very happy. It’s a warm and welcoming community with many ways to engage with other residents and include family. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the food is delicious, and my parents love owning their condo and having a voice in the owner led HOA. So grateful for Smith Ranch!
My husband and I moved to Smith Ranch home in May 2021, leaving our home in Novato that we shared for over 30 years.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think about how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful community. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is my favorite place to exercise, the staff treat us like we are family, and the residents are some of the kindest people I’ve ever encountered.
Every weeknight I enjoy an absolutely delicious four course dinner. No shopping, planning or cooking has worked out quite well for me!!
I often play Mahjong, rummykub, croquet, and maybe bocce ball but I also can spend as much time as I want Enjoying the peacefulness of my condo from indoors or from my patio.

Smith Ranch Homes (SRH) is a wonderful resort-like senior community located in the heart of Marin. The property is well-managed & well maintained by a dedicated staff overseen by a Board of Directors elected by the owners. Top-notch dining fuels residents’ days filled with social, cultural, educational, entertaining & healthy activities. But what puts SRH in a league all its own is the people who live there, who create a real community where everyone is welcome & everyone can thrive. A great place to invest your sunset years!
I absolutely love living here! We moved in 3 years ago and could not be more pleased with the services, food, activities, staff and welcoming residents. Our grandchildren so enjoy coming for lunch at the Grille and playing at the pool. The landscaping is very beautiful, walking our Standard poodle here is a joy! We've met many new friends as well. Although this is not continuing care, there are many care givers who work here who can be hired when needed. Who wouldn't love living at a resort!
